History Gallery Redevelopment Master Plan

Re-imagining a Canadian Icon

The history galleries at the Royal BC Museum are world renowned. Designed in the 1970s, they represented a daring new approach in which visitors stepped into the exhibition settings. Though immensely popular, the presentations needed to be updated.

Storyline worked with a team of curators to reimagine the galleries. The work demanded an analysis of the existing exhibitions, establishing new visitor experience principles and articulating an entirely new interpretive strategy. The Master Plan retained the best of the original displays in an exciting new architectural configuration. It also introduced exciting new presentations designed to truly engage visitors with the past.
