The Spartanburg Regional History Museum • Spartanburg, SC • 3,000 sq. ft.
The West wing of the Chapman Cultural Center is home to the Spartanburg Regional History Museum. Highlighting a heritage deeply rooted in textile mills, the main gallery of the history museum makes use of lumber salvaged from one of these mills to create a “work table,” which holds the bulk of the permanent exhibition. Casework around the perimeter holds artifacts grouped thematically using a custom modular mounting system.
